Transfer Rumors and News

Barcelona midfield jewel is a certainty for Spain’s UEFA Euro 2024 squad

With Barcelona’s campaign nearly finalized, the focus is gradually tilting toward the upcoming international tournaments this summer.

With Euro 2024 commencing in Berlin on June 14, several Barcelona players are expected to be a part of the action with their respective national teams.

Spain has especially been known to harbour a tremendous number of Barca stars, which is a trend that is likely to persist this summer as well.

Pedri will feature for Spain

Reports have previously argued that Pedri’s place for the Spanish national team may be under doubt as he has yet to feature for De La Fuente.

However, according to SPORT, Pedri is currently on the Euros list, barring any unforeseen injury, and the success of De La Fuente’s plans heavily depends on him.

Pedri has struggled with several injury lapses this season but looks to be acquiring regularity over the past few weeks.

Moreover, the Canary Islander has proven to be an important asset for Spain in the past, notably being named the best young player at Euro 2020 after a stellar tournament at just the age of 18.

As such, his inclusion under De La Fuente is not threatened and he is expected to play a crucial role for Spain as long as he is fit and available.

In fact, the manager even highlighted faith in Pedri publicly, claiming, “He knows what I am going to ask of him. He will always have my recognition, and I am sure that with me he will always be at a good level.”

Yamal’s place is guaranteed

Another youngster who has a high chance of featuring and playing for Spain is Lamine Yamal, following his spectacular breakthrough season.

The Spain manager professed that the 16-year-old is a special player and claimed if he ends up participating, it is because of his unique talents.
