Real Madrid 4-1 Barcelona: Goals and highlights

Good evening everybody and welcome to another MARCA in English live blog, this time taking you through the Supercopa de Espana final between Real Madrid and Barcelona in Saudi Arabia.

These two teams will do battle in the final for the second year in a row. Last season saw Barcelona come out victors thanks to a 3-1 scoreline. Xavi’s side stormed out to a three-goal advantage before Karim Benzema added a late consolation as the Blaugrana won the tournament for the fourteenth time.

This season, Real booked their spot by taking down city rivals Atletico Madrid in an extra-time thriller, while Barcelona cruised past Osasuna.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men will be looking to win the trophy for the first time in five seasons, and they do in a confident mood having gone unbeaten in their last 20 competitive matches (17W 3D).

That includes a 2-1 victory in October’s Clasico, one hat saw Jude Bellingham net a brace – including the winner in the 92nd minute.

As for Barcelona, they will look to defend their trophy – a feat they haven’t accomplished since 2010 and 2011 when Pep Guardiola was at the helm.
