Three Barcelona youngsters feature in ‘under-18 all-stars’ XI

Barcelona finds their season ablaze with the fervor of youth, as an abundance of prodigies have stormed their way into the first team and made a remarkable impression.

Disguising the club’s financial situation as well as their lapses on the sporting front, La Masia has been a saving grace for Barça.

And impressively, many of the youngsters who have worked wonders for the Catalan giants thus far are merely teenagers.

Now, Score 90 have revealed an under-18-all-star XI, which, unsurprisingly, harbors three Barcelona gems.

The fantastic three

In the forward line, Lamine Yamal has been entrusted to take ownership of the right flank. His meteoric rise has garnered immense attention globally, so much so that Barça are planning to hand him Lionel Messi’s number 10 jersey.

In the recent international break, the 16-year-old sensation produced an awe-inspiring display against Brazil, masterfully weaving his way past defenders and playing a role in all of Spain’s goals.

Meanwhile, Cubarsi is endowed with the responsibility of guarding the back line in central defense. This hardly astounds considering he has not only morphed into a starter in Barcelona’s back line; but also performed at the highest of levels.

Indeed, he won the man-of-the-match award against Napoli by overcoming the likes of Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while also reigning supreme against Atletico Madrid.

Lastly, Hector Fort takes ownership of the right-back position. Although the youngster has played all his games on the left flank, he is naturally considered a right-back.

Thus far, he has showcased exceptional maturity with both his offensive acumen and defensive solidity. Fort’s performance against Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey was especially bright.

Barcelona eager to build around their youngsters

With Barça’s youngsters making such salient strides, the club aims to assemble a team composed primarily of homegrown players under Deco.

The Catalans’ financial constraints, which have gotten worse over the last three months, leave them with no other choice either.

The likes of Pau Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, and Hector Fort have a combined total of over 3000 minutes this season, paying testament to their importance to the team in the present and foreseeable future.
