Explained: Why Vitor Roque didn’t play for Barcelona against Osasuna

Barcelona new signing Vitor Roque didn’t feature in the team’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final win over Osasuna after picking up a knock against Barbastro.

Diario Sport have revealed the new signing picked up a hamstring niggle in the Copa del Rey win, and Barca opted to wrap him up in cotton wool instead,

Vitor Roque has also missed a couple of training sessions with Barcelona, although tests have ruled out any injury.

Yet Barcelona have decided to use “maximum caution” when it comes to their forward and are not willing to take any risks at all with his fitness.

The club realise the youngster already has enough on his plate with trying to adapt to a new league and a new country and don’t want an injury to complicate the adaptation process any further.

The good news is that Vitor Roque has trained normally ahead of Sunday’s final against Real Madrid and could potentially get some minutes of the bench in the second half.
