Pedri sends a message to Barcelona fans after latest injury setback

As if a disappointing goalless draw was not enough, Barcelona were dealt with a major blow when their star player Pedri was struck down by an injury yet again.

The young midfielder suffered a setback in last night’s clash against Athletic Club, marking his second injury of the season.

The exact nature and extent of Pedri’s injury have yet to be disclosed by the club, but initial reports suggest that he will face an extended spell on the sidelines, potentially for a period of up to six weeks.

This news comes as a crushing blow not only to Barcelona but to Pedri himself, who had returned from a long injury layoff only recently.

Despite the recent setback, Pedri, though, is far from demotivated and even acknowledged the widespread support he has received from fans, in a heartfelt post on social media.

“It is difficult to stop and start again after all the efforts. However, you have no doubt that yesterday’s tears of helplessness will soon turn into happiness again,” Pedri said.

As mentioned earlier, Pedri could be out for a period of up to 5-6 weeks. He may even miss the next Clasico on April 21.

But the midfielder remains resilient and is hopeful to make a stronger comeback next time around. The outpouring of love and support from fans and teammates has not gone unnoticed by Pedri.

“It’s impossible not to be excited about all the love I’ve received in the past few hours. For your sake, for the crew, for everyone around me, and for me, we have to look forward. We still have so much joy to share,” Pedri added.

Pedri’s message serves as a rallying cry for resilience for Barcelona fans and indeed, his teammates, including Gavi – another starlet suffering from a long-term injury blow.
