Official: Barcelona squad list to face Athletic Club | La Liga GW 27
Barcelona will travel to San Mames this weekend as they get set to take on Athletic Club in Gameweek 27 of the 2023/24 La Liga.
The Catalans are eight points behind leaders Real Madrid and the gap could rise to 11 points today, with the Merengues playing Valencia later tonight.
So, there is little room for error for Barça when they step out on the field against Ernesto Valverde’s men.
Ahead of the game, manager Xavi Hernandez has released the squad list of players who will be travelling to the Basque country to face Athletic.
There are no fresh returns as Ferran Torres, Marcos Alonso, Gavi, and Alejandro Balde remain unavailable through injuries.
It will be a special occasion for defender Inigo Martinez as he returns to his former club for the first time after making the switch to Barcelona. It must be remembered that the veteran missed Barça’s visit to Athletic Club in Copa del Rey due to injury.
Youngsters Hector Fort, Marc Guiu, Pau Cubarsi, and Diego Kochen continue in the first-team squad list.
