Why Alejandro Balde is facing an uncertain future at Barcelona
Alejandro Balde is reportedly not guaranteed a place at Barcelona next season due to the club’s ongoing financial issues.
Diario AS are reporting that if a “great offer” arrives for the left-back, Barcelona will gladly accept as they can make a “pure profit” on the academy graduate.
Barcelona are already said to have turned down an “important offer” for the defender, and it remains to be seen if more will arrive in the summer.
Certainly a big sale would help Barcelona enormously on the financial front which is why Balde is said to be facing an uncertain future.
Yet if Barca were to sell Balde it would leave the club seriously short on options at left-back and likely needing to invest.
Marcos Alonso is expected to depart in the summer when his contract expires, while it’s not clear yet if Joao Cancelo will remain at the club.
Alex Valle is set to return from a loan spell with Levante but will surely only be a back-up option if he is included in the senior squad next year.
