Lamine Yamal overtakes Pedri, Gavi in major off-the-pitch metric

Lamine Yamal’s meteoric rise to stardom this season has been nothing short of remarkable. 

At the tender age of 16, the budding forward has captivated audiences with his breathtaking performances, earning him admiration from all corners, particularly at Barcelona, where he has become a source of tremendous pride.

Presently, Yamal holds an unassailable position within the club, evidenced by their eagerness to secure his future. As reported before, Barcelona are poised to offer him a substantial contract as soon as he reaches the age of 18. 

This proposed deal would see the 16-year-old prodigy extend his tenure until 2030 with a staggering penalty clause amounting to €1 billion.

Yamal continues to break records at Barcelona

The potential heir of the number 10 shirt, Yamal has broken numerous records this season and the recent one he broke might have benefitted Barcelona to a great extent.

According to a report from SPORT, in March, Yamal’s shirt ranked as the second highest-selling shirt in Barça’s official stores, falling just behind veteran forward Robert Lewandowski.

Interestingly enough, the 16-year-old outshined Gavi, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong, who complete the top five selling shirts for Barcelona fans, in that order. 

While injuries may have played a role, there is no denying the immense excitement among the Blaugrana supporters for Yamal. 

Barcelona are taking care of the youngster

Given the talent he possesses, Barcelona are doing everything in their power to keep Yamal in the perfect shape. For that, as reported before, the Blaugrana have put him under a special plan to improve his physical condition.

Thanks to that, Yamal has already gained significant muscle mass and stature wise, he has experienced a growth spurt of 10 centimetres over the past year. All these efforts points out to the fact that Barcelona will stop at nothing for Yamal.
