Barcelona €70 million winger wanted by five Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham

With Barcelona primed to make at least one major sale in the summer transfer window, Raphinha has been mentioned as one of the likeliest candidates to be sacrificed by the La Liga champions.

Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, arriving in a deal worth €58 million plus €7 million in add-ons.

Not a guaranteed starter

The 27-year-old played an important part in the Catalans’ La Liga title triumph in his debut season despite having a secondary role in the squad behind Ousmane Dembele.

With the Frenchman departing in the summer, this was expected to be Raphinha’s season. But injuries and Lamine Yamal’s explosion has meant that the Brazilian is no longer ascertained of a starting spot.

With Ferran Torres also an option for the right-wing, Barcelona would be open to his sale, especially with clubs in the Premier League lining up to sign him.

Five Premier League clubs interested

Indeed, as per reports relayed by Mundo Deportivo, as many as five Premier League clubs have set their sights on Barcelona winger Raphinha heading into the summer.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and West Ham United are the teams that are understood to be monitoring the Brazilian international.

Arsenal have been long-time admirers of Raphinha and even tried to sign him in 2022, but were beaten to the punch by Barcelona. With director Edu seemingly an admirer, they remain interested in the winger.

Liverpool are also in the hunt for the ex-Rennes man. With Jurgen Klopp set to leave, there will be changes at Anfield and amid some question marks about Mohamed Salah’s continuity, Raphinha has emerged as a target.

Tottenham have been mentioned as suitors for Raphinha for quite a few weeks now, with recent reports even suggesting that they would be ready to stump up €70 million for his signing.

Newcastle United, too, have been tailing the Barcelona star for some time and have the financial wherewithal to pull off the signing, with West Ham also now entering the fray.

Barcelona see Raphinha as a player who can help them land big money in the coffers in the summer. It now remains to be seen if any of the aforementioned teams launch a move for him.
