Superagent plotting transfer plan involving Joao Felix Barcelona deal and Ansu Fati to Atletico

According to Fichajes, Jorge Mendes is planning a daring move in the transfer market and his strategy involves orchestrating a deal between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. 

As per the report, Mendes aims to convince Atletico to extend Joao Felix’s loan at Barça for another year, in exchange for Barcelona relinquishing their promising talent, Ansu Fati, who is also represented by Mendes. 

However, it is to be noted that this evolving proposal might require further adjustments, given Felix’s higher market value compared to Fati.

There is more to the story

It is said that the potential inclusion of Inigo Martínez in the same transaction adds a new layer to the negotiations. 

Martinez could find playing opportunities at the Metropolitano, especially if Barcelona encounters Financial Fair Play restrictions. However, the response of Diego Simeone will be pivotal. 

Simeone, known for his preference for physically strong and swift players, might not view Ansu as an ideal fit for his system. Nonetheless, the scarcity of attacking options in his squad could prompt a more thorough consideration.

There is optimism

The connections between Mendes and Miguel Angel Gil Marin, CEO of Atletico, and Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, might lead to a deal. 

Moreover, the past collaborations between Barcelona and Atletico in player transfers add an intriguing context to this potential agreement. 

However, it is worth noting that their relationship has not been the smoothest in recent months.

In any way, though, it is certain that Barcelona do not have Ansu in their plans and Atletico are not counting on Felix to come back as well. This was made evident by Enrique Cerezo’s recent comments where he said,

“Joao is thriving at Barcelona and it’s normal for him to want to stay there. Barcelona wants him and he’s happy there, so it’s a great fit.”
